Canopy House

Envisioned as a house gently lifted into the tree canopy, the design begins with an unusual premise: Retain nearly every living tree. The design spans selectively between grounded base elements, allowing the hillside to pass beneath and the forest to remain as the site’s primary structure. An efficient three bedroom home opens to a large, covered deck reaching into the branches. The project treats architecture not as an act of clearing, but as a way of inhabiting the existing landscape with unusual precision.
